  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mix evenly over the chicken drumsticks.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken legs on all sides for about 2-3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  5. Place the seared chicken drumsticks into the slow cooker.
  6. Pour the chicken broth or water over the chicken.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
