  • 1 teaspoon of water
  • 1/2 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 4.5-5 glasses of flour
  • 200 grams softened butter

For internal mortar:

  • 3 dry onions
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 500 g medium fat ground beef
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Oregano
  • Ground red pepper

For the above:

  • 1 tablespoon of milk

  1. In a large bowl, combine the egg, oil, yogurt, water, salt, baking powder, and vinegar. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  4. For the filling, heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the ground beef, salt, black pepper, oregano, and ground red pepper. Cook until the beef is browned.
  5. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle, spread a layer of softened butter, add a spoonful of the beef and onion mixture, and roll it up.
  6. Place the rolled böreks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a mixture of egg yolk and milk.
