Ingredients:

  • 700g (1 lb 8 oz) potatoes
  • 1 rectangular puff pastry sheet
  • 80g (3 oz) cheese (grated or sliced)
  • 100g (4 oz) cooked ham (sliced or chopped)
  • Parsley (chopped)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Salt, pepper, nutmeg (to taste)
  • Butter (for greasing)

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them with a fork or potato masher. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the grated cheese and chopped parsley over the potatoes.
  6. Arrange the cooked ham slices on top of the cheese.
  7. Roll up the puff pastry tightly, starting from one of the longer sides, to form a log.
  8. Place the roll seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased with butter.

  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
